My Journey Into Sword Fitness
My journey with sword movement began more than 14 years ago, when I met my husband while practicing a Five Element sword partner routine. I had always been drawn to movement and dreamed of learning kung fu. With a sword in my hand, strength, focus and flow came together in a way that immediately felt right.
Through pregnancy and motherhood, my practice evolved into yoga and Nei Gong, with a special interest in women’s Qi Gong and movement through the different stages of a woman’s life. I later returned to martial arts through Wing Chun and Shaolin Kung Fu, including sword training.
Alongside this journey, I built my career as a Registered Acupuncturist with a special focus on women’s health, practicing at Access Acupuncture and The Perinatal Wellness Centre. Years of working with women and understanding the body have deeply influenced the way I approach movement.
Today, Sword Fitness brings these different parts of my journey together: strength, coordination, mobility, focus and confidence.
This is the practice I now share: a dynamic, grounded and energized way to move your body, sharpen your mind and learn something new.
My approach to teach
You don’t need to arrive confident. Confidence is something we build.
I teach movement step by step, giving you time to understand the sword, your body and how they move together. Precision comes before speed, and progress matters more than perfection.
My goal is to create a space where you can challenge yourself, ask questions, laugh, learn and discover what your body can do.
